A privacy-first subscription tracker that never asks for your bank
Most subscription apps start by asking you to connect an account through an aggregator. If that is where you close the tab, this is the version that does not. Recurno tracks what you enter, and there is no banking access to grant or revoke.
The short version
- 01No account linking, no aggregator, no banking credentials at any point.
- 02You add subscriptions yourself, so the app only ever knows what you told it.
- 03Renewal reminders by email before the charge lands.
- 04Free for 30 subscriptions, exportable and deletable in one action.
Why anyone would refuse bank linking
Read access to a current account is a lot to hand a $3 utility. It exposes every transaction, not just the recurring ones, and the access usually sits with a third party aggregator rather than the app you chose. Plenty of people are fine with that trade. Plenty are not, and outside the US and UK the connections are often unreliable anyway.
What you give up, honestly
Automatic discovery. A tool with bank access can surface a charge you forgot about; a manual tracker cannot. That is a real advantage and it is worth naming rather than talking around. The workaround is a single evening with three months of statements, after which the list stays current because you add things as you subscribe to them.
What you get instead
A tool with no access to lose, no connection to repair, and a list that stays exactly as accurate as you keep it.
- Renewal reminders three days ahead on Free, and 1, 3, 7 or 14 days on Pro
- Household members, so shared plans show who actually pays
- 45 currencies, kept separate rather than summed at an invented rate
- Cancelled subscriptions stay on the books so the saving stays visible
- CSV and JSON export, and account deletion that also cancels billing
Building the list in one sitting
Scan three months of bank and card statements for repeating amounts, then check the App Store and Google Play, where the easiest ones to forget are billed. Yearly plans hide best, because a charge that appears once a year does not register as a habit.
Frequently asked
01Can I track subscriptions without connecting a bank account?+
Yes. Recurno is built that way: you add each recurring payment with its cost, billing cycle and renewal date, and the app never requests banking access. The trade is that it cannot discover charges you have not told it about.
02Is a manual subscription tracker safer?+
It has a smaller blast radius. There are no banking credentials involved and no third party aggregator holding read access to your transactions, so there is nothing of that kind to leak or revoke. It stores the subscription details you enter, and you can delete all of it from Settings.
03How long does manual setup take?+
Most people finish in twenty to thirty minutes working from three months of statements. After that it is a few seconds whenever you subscribe to something new.
